In 2025, we celebrated AREA 506 Festival #10 with another stellar line-up of Canadian favourites, including: Broken Social Scene, Matt Mays, Half Moon Run, and Arkells with one night dedicated to fans of heavier music like Alexisonfire, Cancer Bats, and Death from Above 1979.

2024 was…memorable

Even with some last minute switch-ups, 2024 was one of our favourites to date. Headliners in this year’s (ninth!) edition included: Our Lady Peace, Alvvays, The Beaches, PUP, Tokyo Police Club & Wintersleep with support from Aysanabee, Colony House, Devon Cole, an Ermine reunion show and lots of New Brunswick talent. 

2023 was one for the books

With new enhancements to the Waterfront Container Village and one of our largest lineups to date, we blew the roof off in 2023. Headliners included Metric, the Sheepdogs, Sam Roberts Band, The Blue Stones, and we enjoyed another sold out night with Billy Talent, The Beaches, Crown Lands, Dear Rouge and a stacked supporting lineup of New Brunswick talent. 

In 2022, we were back in full force

With a brand new location and a shiny new Container Village, we brought the Festival back to Uptown Saint John in 2022. Headliners for our biggest event yet included Arkells, Sloan, k‑os, Mother Mother, and we even had our first sold out night with The Glorious Sons, The Trews and JJ Wilde!

2021 kicked off our very first Waterfront Concert Series

We had a summer-long celebration on the waterfront with the best of Atlantic Canadian talent, including a comedy show with James Mullinger and Nikki Payne. Musical performances included Alan Doyle, Classified, Bahamas, Jimmy Rankin, Ria Mae, Measha Brueggergosman, and Matt Mays.

2019 was a year to remember. 

Sloan rocked the stage as one of our headliners, along with City & Colour and Interpol! Other performers included Dear Rouge, Matthew Good, New Brunswick’s own The Hypochondriacs and Jamie Comeau & the Crooked Teeth.

2018 was such an energetic year! 

Headliners included The Glorious Sons and July Talk. Other performers who graced (and rocked) the 506 stage included Big Wreck, The New Pornographers, and Tomato/​Tomato.

Local artists including

The Hypochondriacs and Mike Biggar were familiar faces on the Main Stage. This ground-shaking lineup also included headliners The Strumbellas, Tegan & Sara and David Myles, just to name a few.

2016 was the first year of the AREA 506 Festival, 

and we featured some awesome performers. Headliners included Grace Potter, Matt Andersen & The Bona Fide, Big Sugar, and more.
